Résumé / Abstract
In order to test the noise traffic model and the exhaust emissions models, field trials were conducted in the ZELT area of Toulouse during the spring of 1991. Comparison between the measured and calculated noise values show that the results are satisfactory. The accuracy of the model could be improved by increasing the number of sound wave reflections and diffractions, but this would require a large increase in the computing time required. For carbon monoxide (CO), the calculated values showed quite good agreement with the measured values. However, for hydrocarbons (HC) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx), there was some difference with the two sets of values. Comparing the measured and calculated values with values derived from a chassis dynamometer showed better agreement with the calculated than the measured values.
