Résumé / Abstract
There exist a large amount of studies investigating arm reaching and grasping movements. But few focused on arm movements when manipulating an object, such as rotating an object. As the arm is a redundant system, an infinite number of ways exist for grasping and manipulating an object. In order to simulate natural human motion using a digital human model (DHM), one has to know the natural coordination between the movements of the joints involved in motion and to implement it in a simulation algorithm. The objective of the present study is to investigate the coordination of the shoulder, elbow and wrist when rotating a spherical object. arm coordination; prehension; kinematic; motion simulation
