Résumé / Abstract
The efficient broadcast of messages in Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET) still faces many challenges in current research. In this paper, we are interested in multihop broadcast communication for neighborhood discovery applications which increase driver visibility. These applications need to send information with a high rate causing congestion in the network. To avoid this congestion, we propose a new broadcasting scheme consisting in favoring the information of the closest vehicles in a high vehicular density context. Therefore, we introduce the concept of message energy, which generalizes the typical time-to-live value. Our proposal is evaluated and compared with several existing broadcasting schemas using a network simulator. The results show an improvement in neighbor discovery in a congestion context.
