Résumé / Abstract
As communications evolve, the on-board train antennas needed to keep passengers connected while they are communicating require unique and innovative antenna solutions. Current tunnel cross sections are getting smaller and trainborne antennas are getting closer to the walls of the tunnel and operate in near field regime. As a result, antenna performances cannot be guaranteed without the use of numerical models accounting for near field effects. In such a context, the design of appropriate trainborne and ground antennas to ensure reliable communication is a challenge. Appropriate wave propagation models are required to allow drawing specifications of antennas. Thus, this document show a modal approach based on a full wave transmission line matrix (TLM) model for the analysis of propagation in tunnels.
