Résumé / Abstract
Roller rigs, full size and scale, are being used by researchers and railway organisations around the world to assist in the understanding of the behaviour of railway vehicles and the development of faster, safer and more efficient railways. Roller rigs have contributed to the design of most of the railway vehicles that we know. This paper has summarised the main characteristics of several roller rigs that are in use today, like the db roller rig in Munich, typical of the full size, as well as model rigs, like the one from DLR, from MMU or INRETS.
