Résumé / Abstract
AIR transport has continuously grown over time. The aircraft industry forecasts this growth to be approximately 5% per annum over the next 20 years. If realized, these forecasts would see passengers and cargo trafic increase, respectively, by 180 and 220% between 2007 and 2026. This rapid growth provides economic benecits and allows a greater mobility of populations. Nevertheless, this increase contributes to green house gas, pollutant emissions and noise annoyance at local level. Intolerance of communities toward disturbances, and the growing proximity of neighborhood areas to aircraft ftight paths represents significant constraints to this growth.
