Résumé / Abstract
A nuisances study was carried out in France in 1986 and 1987. It was concerned with the nuisances, particularly with land transport noise, experienced by people at home. Two main steps have been conducted: first, a survey using questionnaires and involving a sample of 2000 people; and second, 24-hour noise measurements at the front of the dwellings of a sub-sample of 375 people. It was also a repetition of a similar study carried out 10 years earlier. It enables us to assess acoustic home exposure in France in the eighties, and to make some comparisons with the previous survey.
