Résumé / Abstract
There are many things inside the vehicle, in addition to mobile phones, that have the potential to distract the driver. This chapter will present and review information that exists on the effects of these in-vehicle sources of distraction on driving performance. In-vehicle distractions have been found to account for up to 62% of all distraction-related crashes,1 although, as discussed in Chapters 15 and 16, the manner in which these sources of distraction are classifi ed strongly infl uences the magnitude of such estimates.
