Résumé / Abstract
Transport should dramatically change over the 21st century. Studying the history of past habits and behavior change is essential to shed light on future changes. The combined analysis of retrospective surveys of individuals by way of biographies, with past National Travel Surveys (NTS) giving cross section images at given dates in the past, can help at investigating these issues. The aim of this communication is to discuss the comparison of estimations derived from a bio-graphic survey with those derived from the perspective of the national transport surveys conducted since the 1980's. The first part will be dedicated to the descrip-tion of both data sources and to the methodological discussion on the comparison of biographic data with NTS data. The second part will propose a confrontation of both sources on the analysis of the main commuting mode from home to work or education place. The third part will present a first approach of the history of moto-rization evolution after biographic data.
