Résumé / Abstract
In order to model the behaviour of soft soils, some complex constitutive laws have been developed. These models have been then introduced in numerical codes for the simulation of geotechnical works. In order to appreciate the performance of models, some benchmarks have been set up. They are useful, even essential, because the only ones allow to evaluate and justify the geotechnical research approaches, and to validate the codes in project conditions. But, it is to be regretted the absence of global synthesis about these prediction competitions. To prevent this fullness of information from sinking in oblivion, the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées conduct an inventory of geotechnical benchmarks. The aim of this paper is to introduce two databases and to provide some conclusions drawn from a first synthesis about works on soft soils.
