Résumé / Abstract
Since the pioneer work of Romualdi and Batson (1963), many engineers, testing laboratories, universities, concrete producers and fiber manufacturers have tested Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) to determine its various physical properties. This report examines the results of the above mentioned investigation by means of finite elements models, which take into account important aspects in the failure analysis of concrete structures, thereby permitting the accomplishment of the following objectives : - a better understanding of the fibers' role on the structural behavior as a primary reinforcement with respect to conventional reinforced concrete (RC) solution - evaluation of the effect on the structural behavior of the fiber distribution within the tunnel segment - the study of the structural response sensitivity to the test boundary conditions - the assessment of the current French recommendation for the design of SFRC tunnel lining segments - the comparision of different computation methodologies based on constitutive models suitable for FRC material
