Résumé / Abstract
We prepare and study cement foam samples with well-controlled structure, 10 i.e. containing monodisperse bubbles. We observe that the foam structure often 11 changes before cement setting and identify ripening as the major destabiliza-12 tion mechanism at stake. Drainage plays only a minor role in cement foam 13 destabilization except when bubble size is large. Then we show that a single 14 stability criterion can be de?ned, for a large range of cement foams with di?er-15 ent formulations. This criterion involves the bubble radius and the yield stress 16 of the cement paste such as con?ned by and between the bubbles, at a given 17 characteristic time after sample preparation.
