Résumé / Abstract
Many wireless telecommunication systems are deployed in the public transport domain to enhance efficiency, safety, security and comfort. This trend is increasing due to the development of driverless systems and the necessity to increase the capacity of the lines and the quality of service in general. One can consider three main applications: critical applications related to control and command, non-critical applications related to operation of trains and non-critical applications for comfort. This paper proposes a synthetic view of the main existing applications and technologies for telecommunication in the public transport domain. The perspectives and some on-going research projects are also highlighted.
