Résumé / Abstract
Measuring flow-rate and pollutant discharges through sewer networks is required for legal, technical and management reasons. This paper presents an experimental study in order to enhance knowledge on the total suspended solids and velocity profiles in sewers, for assessing the representativeness of continuous measurements of water discharge and pollutant loads discharged. The experimental site has been chosen to investigate the situation in both a uniform and a complex situations, it is formed by the junction of two channels. The range of quantity (heights, velocities and so flow rates) and quality (turbidity, conductivity, pH) parameters were determined using continuous monitoring. In the same time, experimental campaigns have been conducted to question the existence of concentration gradients. First, the context of this project is reported, second the experimental investigations are detailed and the results are presented and discussed.
