Résumé / Abstract
Under the effect of severe climatic conditions and the heavy vehicles traffic, premature and irreversible damages occur on road pavements carried out with conventional bituminous materials. To deal with this situation, one of the most efficient ways is the modification of bitumen by adding elements which modify their rheological behavior. Thus, use of polymers to modify bitumen seems to be a promising solution. The properties of modified bitumen influence the characteristics of bituminous mixes. The study of this characteristic has led to a better knowledge of bitumen behavior when subjected to different thermal and mechanical conditions.
In the present work, we study the influence of the association of EVA (Ethylene vinyl acetate) with NBR (acrylonitrile butadiene rubber) , characterization tests has been used on modified bitumen with different proportions of ( EVA,NBR) and time mixing, then mechanical tests like Marshall and indirect tensile tests were made on the bituminous mixes. Results show that the association of EVA and NBR improves the mechanical characteristics of bituminous concrete; this is clearly seen on the Marshall characteristics and the indirect tensile strength parameter obtained on bituminous concrete with high content of waste polymer.
