Résumé / Abstract
The approximation of solutions to partial differential equations (PDE's) can be achieved by multiple methods, but often this resolution can be rather expensive; our focus was thus the study of some methods of model reduction. In addition, modern engineering problems are often concerned with efficient real-time resolution of parameter-dependent problems, and with what we refer to as quantities of interest, as opposed to a full reconstruction of the solution. This makes methods of reduction particularly important and promising. We explored the application of non-intrusive reduced basis methods to a geotechnics problem, specifically the excavation of a subterrain tunnel.
