Résumé / Abstract
PERSUADE project aims to develop a poroelastic road surfacing (PERS) which allows higher noise-abatement than conventional paving materials (asphalt concrete, cement concrete). These poroelastic road materials are relatively new and unexplored materials. That is why a test programme for accelerated loading and durability tests has been planned to make sure, as early as in the mix optimization stage (WP2) in the laboratory, that the performance characteristics of the poroelastic surface developed are adequate. The test programmes included PERS material characterization for their stiffness, tensile strength, ravelling resistance and polishing resistance properties. Optimization is the process of finding the optimum overall performance of the mix. In this optimization process, several properties had to be considered, and it turned out to be difficult to find a mix that performed well in all aspects. More specifically, it was hard to find a PERS that had both good ravelling resistance as well as good resistance to polishing. But, some variants of PERS mixes showed promising performance and could probably been hanced to provide an acceptable performance with respect to those properties that were considered., RAPPORT DE CONTRAT
