Résumé / Abstract
This chapter, first analyses the physical modeling of pile foundation. Discussions focus on boundary conditions and monitoring techniques in order to represent the field conditions and to capture the mechanical behavior of the foundation. Second, the chapter presents physical modeling of a heat‐exchanger pile. The main observation on the mechanical behavior under thermomechanical loading is analyzed. In addition, heat transfer monitored during experiments is also presented. In addition to the research based on in situ testing and numerical simulation, these results obtained from physical modeling give complementary understanding of the behavior of heat‐exchanger piles under thermomechanical loading.
