Résumé / Abstract
The HERMES project was developed through FEHRL, and was carried out under the guidance of a steering group comprising experts from six FEHRL member laboratories. The project had the primary objective of testing the procedures for establishing and maintaining a harmonised skid resistance index proposed by CEN in prEN13036-2. In addition to testing the practical aspects, the project also was to consider possible improvements to the models used to calculate the index and to explore alternative approaches for possible future consideration. The findings of the the project in relation to these main tasks are reported.
