Résumé / Abstract

This paper presents the different studies carried out by inrets on accident analysis on car-to-car compatibility in head-on collision based on french data. Two different types of studies have been realized: a global accident analysis based on baacs files and an in-depth study based on detailed damaged vehicles files. The aim of these two studies is to identify parameters that can explain the incompatibility in the level of injury between the occupants of the two antagonist cars. Despite the fact that we have tried to remove the effect of mass, the major parameter identified is still the mass.
