Résumé / Abstract
In this paper, we have proposed and applied the method of successive intervals for comfort evaluation. Compared to various direct rating methods, the proposed method is based on the thurstonian randomness of subjects' responses under the general frame of measurement theory. In order to illustrate the proposed method, the comfort of pedal operations has been analyzed and compared with the direct rating. It has been shown that this method is well adapted for ordered category responses and more sensitive to subjects' responses than by the direct rating method.
