Résumé / Abstract
In spite of the numerous problems caused by the use of private vehicles (congestion, pollution, of space occupation, etc.), the private car attracts more and more users and the number of cars is continuously growing. Transportation policies nowadays aim at reducing the use private vehicles and to encourage the use of public transport. A powerful tool towards this objective is the development of the multimodal transportation. Unfortunately, there is a lack of multimodal planning tools for the evaluation of multimodal policies such as transportation pricing (public transportation fare schemes or urban traffic tolls), optimal parking strategies and tarif strategies to promote a 'park'n'ride' use, etc. In this paper, the authors propose a model for the traffic equilibrium assignment problem in a multimodal transportation network. As they are convinced that pricing is one of the main tools for acting on the use of different transportation modes, the developed model must be able to evaluate and optimize any pricing strategy which can affect the multimodal traffic equilibrium and especially improve the modal transfer from the private vehicle to the public transport.
