Résumé / Abstract
In this paper an alternative method for calculating the sound pressure from a line source over flat ground with arbitrary impedance is presented. The extended Rayleigh integral method is mainly an alternative to boundary integral equation (BIE) methods, and it can, like BIE methods, handle arbitrary source characteristics. It uses the property of the Rayleigh integral to yield a substantially lower computational effort. Furthermore the present technique has been validated by comparisons with analytical solutions and with measurements. This demonstrates its applicability for outdoor sound propagation problems
