Résumé / Abstract
In the framework of the European project Infopolis, the task ERGOLAB has been devoted to the development of mock-ups for transport information systems. This approach allowed to test functions and Human Machine Interaction principles for 3 types of system: Public Access Terminal, web site and portable. In the first part of this report, the objectives and the process for the development of mock-ups are described. After giving some examples of users' needs and the corresponding functional specifications for systems, examples of screens from transport scenarios implemented in a mobile phone are presented. The overall mock-ups are available on an interactive CD Rom. ln a second part, there is the description of Process followed by the task ERGOLAB in order to evaluate the Public Access Terminal mockup, among experts in transport and in ergonomics area, and among Spanish, Belgium and French samples of travellers. The main outputs from this evaluation are summarised. Finally, a set of ergonomic design guidelines are described with their related rationale and some illustrative examples mostly coming from the Infopolis mock-up. Some examples for pictogram standardisation are also proposed, in order to be submitted to the ad hoc commissions.
