Résumé / Abstract
The effects of holes or cutouts on axial crushing of straights thin-walled aluminium extrusion are experimentally studied. Cutouts are introduced along the tube generator, in order to decrease the first peak load on the load-displacement characteristic and control the collapse mode. Numerical simulations are conducted to validate the explicit finite element code PAM CRASH.
