Résumé / Abstract
Road traffic noise is traditionally evaluated using the equivalent level (Leq). For a moving source, the assessment of sound emission is made by determining the maximum of the sound pressure level Lpmax). The Lpmax is also used to characterize the road surfaces. Some studies showed (using simulations or measurements performed on test tracks) that, for single-event vehicle pass-by, the Leq is related to the Lpmax value. The aim of this paper is to extend the procedure used on test tracks to real traffic conditions, and to study if the Leq of the traffic can be estimated accurately from regression analysis performed on these Lpmax values.
