Résumé / Abstract
This paper addresses the various r&d and implementation projects related to electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe. Electric vehicles to be industrialized in the near term, as well as their selling conditions, are detailed. A simulation of a typical electric vehicle highlighted the influence of usage conditions, driving behavior or auxiliary uses on vehicle driving range. A comprehensive comparative assessment of electric and ic engine vehicle emissions was performed from a variety of studies. Hybrid vehicle projects developed by main European car manufacturers are also presented with the trends observed for urban buses.
