Résumé / Abstract
INRETS has been working for several years on the modeling of runing conditions of IC. Engine powered vehicles and on the knowledge of actual use of vehicles.the very bad operating conditions of IC Engine in urban running with extremely low efficiency and the increasing importance of pollution problems in cities center has led us to study a fuel-electric dual-mode vehicle.this paper details the characteristics of the electric chain (motor power, battery mass and range) according to the usage of the vehicle.the performances of the vehicle in electric mode with a 20 kw motor for urban purpose and in IC Engine mode for road and motorway are also described.
