Résumé / Abstract
The STRADA model, whose theoretical foundations are outlined in this paper, is based on two extensions of the basic LWR model: a simple FIFO model for the dynamics of partial densities on links, and a macroscopic model for the dynamics of traffic through intersections, consistent with the boundary conditions resulting from the LWR link model. The resulting network model is discretized according to the Godunov method, relying on the basic local traffic supply and demand concepts. Finally, the problem of the computation of instantaneous travel times, fundamental for reactive dynamic assignment, is addressed, and the assignment model is briefly described.
