Résumé / Abstract
Mainly for forecasting purposes, demographic analysis (i.e. follow-up of generations' behaviour and age-cohort modelling) has been used in many countries (Sweden, Netherlands, Canada ...). In France, we have developed this approach in many directions (car ownership, structure of car fleet and of car market, mobility in urban areas, and car traffic on different networks). This approach is sometimes combined with economic time-series analysis. The scope varies from the national level to the regional and local ones (urban areas).
