Résumé / Abstract
A method has been developed to assess the real impact of changes in the traffic control systems implemented in Amiens - 1992 - and in Niort on trip duration, vehicle speeds and accelerations, fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. This method is based on in-situ measurements using vehicles operated under real-world driving conditions, along preselected routes and at different times, over a 15-day period 'before' and 'after' the implementation of these new systems at about a one-year time interval. Two vehicles were equipped with sensors and data acquisition systems, enabling to measure at second-time intervals vehicle speed, engine operating conditions and vehicle fuel consumption. Methodological development and analyses performed are described on a two-case basis: the limitations of direct on-board measurement of fuel consumptions without any precaution are mentioned (a 25% variation is observed on a same vehicle at a one year time interval). Key words: traffic management, trip duration, fuel consumption, emissions, impact study, passenger cars, data acquisition equipment, in-situ measurements, urban areaMots clés libres : traffic management;trip duration;fuel consumption;emissions;impact study;passenger cars;data acquisition equipment;in-situ measurements;urban area.
