Résumé / Abstract
In order to improve the performance of vehicles in frontal impacts, the EEVC WG11 was in charge of modifying the existing regulations according to accident investigations and to observed injury mechanisms. The working group conducted a series of 25 crash tests which aimed to define a draft test procedure. This proposed test procedure is an offset test with an overlap of 40 % against a deformable fixed obstacle. The speed of the car is 56 km/h with a possibility to explore 60 km/h. The test described in this report is part of a second phasis also partly funded by the DG VII. The aim of this test was to verify first, if the draft test procedure proposed by EEVC WG11 is applicable to a family car like the Citroën Xantia and secondly if the main choosen parameters (speed, overlap, deformable element) are effective in evaluating the protection level offered by this vehicle., RAPPORT DE CONTRAT
