Résumé / Abstract
Low floor buses made it possible to offer regular lines accessible to people with reduced mobility. Bus stations and stops constitute a key link in the transport chain.CTAC, the network operator of the city of Caen started a pilot experiment in 1992 by designing elevated platforms including a docking aid device wich anables drivers to leave a minimum gap between the low-floor bus dorr silland and the kerb. This paper describes the assessment of the system's operating conditions mainly docking performances, davelling times at stops, opinions of bus drivers. Then the commercial objectives are analysed.
